About

DoomRL (Doom, the Roguelike) is a fast and furious coffee-break Roguelike game, that is heavily inspired by the popular FPS game Doom by ID Software.

DoomRL is written in FreePascal, using my Valkyrie library. It also uses SDL for sound and music output.

Also both pages are now hosted on chaosforge.org. Update your bookmarks, and if you know a site with the old links still there, mail them so they update them!

Just to let you people know -- DoomRL is not abandoned. A new version, full of new goodies, is in the making, and will be available before the year ends.

28 Apr 2005 - Version 0.9.8 is out!

A drastical change has happened! DoomRL is even more similar to Doom now, for it SOUNDS the same :-D. Included in the full zip-file are MIDI's and WAV's from Doom (that are the property of ID software, and probably will be distributed with DoomRL only in this release). You can also download Doom I MP3's from www.sirgalahad.org/paul/doom/ and use them instead of the MIDI files -- I strongly recommend that! View doomrl.ini for details of MP3 installation. But it's not all! I also added the long awaited save-on-crash, and TWO new level styles! See version.txt for details.
